Indian vessel opens to public this Thursday

The Indian naval ship Savitri is carrying out anti-piracy patrol and the EEZ surveillance in Mauritian waters.

The ship will be opened to the public on this Thursday 26 January 2012 from 10 :30 hrs to 16 hrs at Quay A.

Visitors are requested not to bring hand-bags, carry bags, among others, on board.

Thery are requested to use the Main Gate D access for the entry to the port premises.

During its deployment in our waters, the ship imparted training to marine commandos of the Mauritian Coast Guard for undertaking operations at sea.

The Indian Navy has increased its presence in the piracy-affected areas and helps out friendly countries by deploying ships and aircraft there.
